Our day tour to Lake Nakuru National Park departs from Nairobi around 06:00 in the morning. Drive from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru to arrive by 9:00 A.M, embark on a game drive that offers the opportunity to witness large flocks of flamingos, endangered rhinos (both black and white species), Rothschild’s giraffes and lions.
The day’s itinerary includes extensive game drives and visits to scenic viewpoints such as Baboon Cliff and Lion Hill, as well as a stop for lunch at a local lodge. The tour lasts for about six hours, providing ample time to explore the park’s offerings.
Lake Nakuru National Park is renowned for its rhino sightings, being one of the best locations in East Africa to see these majestic creatures, along with Rothschild’s giraffes, lions, leopards and waterbucks. For birdwatching enthusiasts, the park offers the spectacle of thousands of pink flamingos, best viewed from July to February, as well as sightings of pelicans, cormorants and African fish eagles. The park’s stunning scenery can be enjoyed from iconic locations such as Baboon Cliff, Lion Hill, Makalia falls and the shores of the soda lake.
Safari Highlights
Our Day Tour schedule includes a morning game drive upon arrival at 09:00, followed by lunch at a lodge around 12:30, and an afternoon game drive before departing the park at 14:30, returning to Nairobi by 18:30.
For optimal comfort and wildlife viewing, it’s recommended to use a private 4×4 Land Cruiser or Safari Van for transportation. The best time to visit the park is during the dry season months from July to October, although the flamingo population is at its peak from July to February.
Entrance fees for non-residents are approximately $90 USD for adults, with the suggestion to bring along a camera, binoculars, sunscreen, and warm clothing for the morning chill.
