Lake Naivasha

One of the key activities at Lake Naivasha is the boat safari, where you can glide across the freshwater lake on a guided tour. This is the best way to spot the large population of hippos and diverse birdlife, including African fish eagles, pelicans and cormorants. During the boat safari, guides often feed fish to the eagles, providing excellent photo opportunities.

Crescent Island

Another highlight is the walking safari on Crescent Island, which is accessible only by boat and is a private game sanctuary largely free of predators. Here, you can safely walk among grazing wild animals such as giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and impalas in a stunning natural setting.

Hell’s Gate National Park

Additionally, a visit to Hell’s Gate National Park, just a short drive from the lake, offers the unique opportunity to explore on foot or by bicycle. The park is famous for its dramatic scenery, including towering cliffs, water-gouged gorges (the inspiration for some scenes in The Lion King movie) and geothermal activity.

Day 1 - Nairobi - Lake Naivasha - Nairobi
7am – Depart Nairobi and start of drive to Naivasha, brief stop over at the Great rift valley view point.

Arrive at the gate of hells gate at around 9am. Start of the biking tour at hells gate for 2 hours

11am – Finish the tours and bring the bikes back at the gate.

12pm – Drive to Naivasha Marina Camp for lunch (at own expense)

2pm – Take a 1 hour boat ride in the lake for bird watching and hippo viewing and then a walk at crescent island.

4pm – End of all activities start of drive back to Nairobi.
